Truckin'
Doug China began his career at KLIC (Monroe, LA). Besides
KONO and KTSA in San Antonio, he worked at KOCY (Oklahoma City),
KLIF (Dallas), WKBW (Buffalo, NY), WPOP (Hartford, CT),
WIRE (Indianapolis), WINZ (Miami), KPRC (Houston),
WNOE (New Orleans), and WWL (New Orleans).
At WWL in 1970, as Charlie Douglas and His Road Gang, he became
the father of overnight programming specifically aimed at
truckers--a concept he envisioned while working at WNOE.
In 1983, he moved to WSM (Nashville) where he stayed for over 20 years.
In 1994 he was inducted into the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame.
Last known status: Retired in the Nashville area.
