KONO Lightning News

Newsman Dick Porter took a tape recorder out into the parking lot to record the sounds of a big rainstorm. This was news because we had experienced a drought for several weeks. As Dick was standing beneath the Channel 12 TV tower in front of the KONO building, a lightning bolt struck the tower with a blinding crash, which scared the fool out of Dick, but…the sound of the bolt was perfectly captured on the recorder in Dick's hands! Hence the sound became the intro for...KONO LIGHTNING NEWS (Crash)!!!
